Job summary

National Water Main Cleaning Company-New England in Canton, MA is seeking a dependable Shop Assistant to join our day shift team. You will help with inventory, cleaning, and general shop upkeep, and support mechanics as needed.

The role involves driving company vehicles up to 10,000 lbs and delivering materials to jobsites, with overtime possible. Requirements include a valid driver’s license, ability to obtain a DOT medical card, drug screening clearance, and prior shop assistant experience is

Responsibilities

• Maintains vehicle inventory appearance and performance by cleaning interior and exterior of vehicles.
• Keeps shop and surrounding area neat and orderly.
• Sweeps, shovels or vacuums loose debris or salvageable scraps from work areas.
• Inspect parts, equipment, or vehicles for cleanliness, damage, and compliance with standards or regulations.
• Assist in cleaning and restoring proper supplies in the shop.
• Drive company vehicles, from vans to commercial trucks over 10,000 lbs
• Deliver material to jobsites.

National Water Main Cleaning Company-New England is a leader in the field of trenchless rehabilitation in the United States, and is part of the Carylon Corporation, which includes fourteen companies that provide various environmental maintenance services. NWMCC specializes in municipal infrastructure inspection and rehabilitation. NWMCC’s inspection division consists of cleaning and televising the internal condition of sewer and drain lines for cities, towns, and engineering firms across the New England area. NWMCC’s rehabilitation division consists of concrete coating, epoxy coating, chemical grouting, installing cured in place pipe, trenchless point repairs, and vacuum excavation.

Job Description:

This employee will help support equipment maintenance, tool organization and overall facility upkeep. This person will report to the Superintendents and will help keep track of inventory levels, restock supplies and assist mechanics with any routine service and inspections.

Job Details:

Location: Canton, MA

Position: Shop Assistant

Schedule: Day shift Monday-Friday. 40-45 hours per week

Pay: $18-$22/hour plus overtime.
