Job summary

Scheels in Colorado is hiring a part-time retail associate for the shoe department. You will help retrieve shoes, process returns, and keep inventory accurate while assisting customers with a friendly, hands-on approach.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and some retail experience. The role features a base hourly wage with potential commissions, a weekend/holiday schedule, and opportunities to grow with Scheels' ESOP program.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1-3 months of related retail/sales experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Retrieve shoes from back stocks and move to the staging area for sales.
  • Process unpurchased items and returns to correct locations to keep inventory accurate.
  • Assist in Men's, Women's, and Youth shoe departments as needed.
  • Engage customers with a warm, welcoming demeanor and offer immediate help.
  • Prep and ensure all technology/devices are ready at shift start.
  • Partner with Specialty Shop Managers to address urgent department needs.
  • Communicate clearly with customers and team members.
  • Work independently or with the team across the organization.
  • Perform basic calculations as required.
  • Adhere to the scheduled hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Effectively retrieve shoes from back stocks and transport them to the staging area for sales associates
  • Process unpurchased items and customer returns to their correct locations while maintaining an organized work environment to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Assist in Men's, Women's, and Youth shoe departments as needed
  • Proactively engage customers with a warm, welcoming demeanor and offer immediate assistance
  • Ensure all necessary technology and devices are prepped and functional prior to the start of each shift
  • Partner closely with Specialty Shop Managers to identify and address urgent department needs
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to present information clearly to customers and team members
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively across all levers of the organization
  • The ability to perform basic calculations
  • Ability to work assigned schedule, which may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the leadership team
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma, or general education degree (GED), preferred
  • 1-3 months of related retail/sales experience, preferred
Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Schedule And Compensation
  • Hours: Average of 15-20 hours per week
  • The Shift: 2-3 shifts a week during the day (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM) with the occasional evening shift (5:00 PM - 9:00 PM).
  • Weekends: Minimum of every other weekend (Saturdays between 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM; Sundays 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM).
  • Pay: The hourly rate posted includes personal sales commission and a base hourly wage of $17.00/HR.
