Job summary

Scheels in Cedar Falls, IA is seeking a sales associate to deliver an exceptional customer experience, promote Scheels Visa, and maintain expert product knowledge. You will build relationships with customers, understand their needs, and guide them to the best products.

You will also meet sales goals, assist with inventory management, and keep merchandise attractively displayed. Work flexible hours including weekends with a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1-3 months of related experience or training or equivalent.
  • Strong customer-service and communication skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers, assess needs, and promote relevant products and Scheels Visa card.
  • Maintain expert product knowledge and conduct training for colleagues.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by seeking out and engaging with customers, going through the steps of the sale to determine their needs, recommending appropriate products, and promoting the Scheels Visa Credit Card
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge in all selling areas, as well as lead product knowledge training for other associates
  • Consistently meet or exceed personal sales goals while delivering a high-quality customer experience
  • Manage inventory by running and analyzing Internal Flash Reports
  • Effectively maintain an organized backstock while ensuring merchandise is properly displayed and replenished on the sales floor
  • Ensures their product is accurately displayed to customers through price tagging, sales stickers, and signage
  • Maintain a professional appearance, positive attitude, and team-oriented atmosphere
  • Communicate professionally with other associates within the store, the Scheels Campus, and Vendors/Sales Representatives
  • Ensures their work area is clean, organized, and meets safety standards
  • Ability to perform basic math; perform operations using units of currency, measurements, and understand percentages
  • Ability to work assigned schedule; may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Including product knowledge meetings
Compensation/Schedule

Compensation for this position is a combination of hourly plus commission starting at $42,000 a year. Must be flexible to work assigned schedule between 9:00am-9:00pm Monday through Saturday and 10:00am-6:00pm Sunday. Schedule may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, holidays. Average hours per week is 41 hours. Typical schedule includes a set day off during the week, up to 2 set nights to close during the week and every other weekend rotation.

Education & Experience

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), 1-3 months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
