Job summary

Scheels All Sports, Inc in Fargo, ND is seeking a Shoe Runner who will support shoe operations on the sales floor and back stock, while delivering exceptional customer experiences in a fast-paced retail environment. You will coordinate footwear from backstock, assist with returns, keep displays organized, and communicate with management to meet daily needs.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and some sales exposure, and demonstrates teamwork and reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 months of sales experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Be proactive in communicating with the Specialty Shop Manager and team to understand urgent needs
• Select shoes from backstock and place them in the staging area for sales associates
• Return any unpurchased shoes to the correct areas in backstock
• Assist Customer Service with shoe return processing and return items to the sales floor
• Keep the product organized to eliminate clutter and maintain accurate inventory records
• Initiate a warm and welcoming interaction with customers, establishing rapport and offering assistance, setting a positive tone for the customer's experience
• Maintain a smooth flow of service to minimize wait times for customers
• Ability to be organized, multi-task, and maintain all aspects of the Shoe Runner role
• Ability to work independently and with the team
• Strong oral/written communication and presentation skills to communicate effectively and promptly
• Ability to apply basic understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Demonstrates attention to detail
• Unload product from freight. Tag, fold, hang and price merchandise to be put out on the sales floor or in back stock
• Restock merchandise on the sales floor and bring products to the floor for display
• Maintain orderly appearance of personal work space and surrounding areas. General cleaning and organization around the store and back stock areas
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other associates of the organization
• Ability to be organized, multi-task, and maintain all aspects of a merchandiser role
• Assist in Men's, Women's, and Youth shoe areas
• Be professional in appearance and attitude, contribute to a positive team atmosphere, and treat others with respect and consideration while following Scheels' policies and procedures
• Willing to do other tasks as assigned by the leadership team and merchandiser Leads
• Work assigned schedule; may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays
