Job summary

Hornblower in Connecticut seeks a Senior Project Manager for new construction, vessel renovation, and development projects. You will lead project teams, manage schedules, budgets, and on-site inspections throughout all phases.

The role requires shipyard experience, PMP preferred, and ability to travel domestically and internationally; you will prepare status reports and coordinate with clients and contractors.

Qualifications

• BS in a technical discipline required; advanced degree preferred in marine engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of shipyard experience.
• Experience creating detailed construction schedules with scheduling software.
• PMP certification or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Understanding of vessel design and construction materials (aluminum, steel, wood, fiberglass).
• Familiarity with classification society rules (ABS, USCG).
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team/operational environment.
• Valid driver’s license; travel to project sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead project management and track labor costs, expenses, and timelines.
• Create and maintain project schedules using Microsoft Project.
• Evaluate progress and quality of work by designers and contractors.
• Provide detailed construction status reports and manage client relationships.
• Organize on-site and virtual meetings; communicate project information to the team.
• Issue contracts, LOIs, POs; negotiate with vendors and contractors.
• Travel to US and international project sites as needed.
• Manage project data and closeout documents throughout lifecycle.
