Job summary

Paylocity is seeking a Project Engineer to lead engineering integration and execution on assigned shipbuilding programs. You will manage the maturation of Functional Design packages and 3D product models into build-ready production-engineering deliverables that satisfy contract requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in naval architecture, marine engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Eight years of progressively responsible engineering experience in shipbuilding or marine engineering.
• Experience with 3D ship models, production drawings, and configuration-controlled data.
• Experience interpreting and implementing vessel designs.
• Experience in a shipyard production environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering integration and execution for assigned programs.
• Oversee subcontracted production-engineering and support procurement and planning.
• Provide field engineering and production support during vessel construction.
• Manage maturation of Functional Designs and 3D models into build-ready deliverables.
• Establish and control engineering workflow, milestones, and release schedules.
• Review and document technical comments, actions, and corrections.
• Coordinate with Program Management, Production, Procurement, QA, and Document Control for controlled data release.
• Verify compliance with contract requirements and shipyard standards.
• Serve as technical liaison between subcontractor and shipyard production teams.
• Lead change management and configuration control of the technical baseline.
