Job summary

General Dynamics-NASSCO in Norfolk, VA is seeking FIVE Pipefitters (Second Shift). You will read blueprints, install piping systems, and perform shop prefab with piping, hangers, and thermal processes. Must access Navy installations and maintain safety standards.

Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs and working around shipboard systems. Responsibilities include ensuring proper tagging, WAF compliance, hydrostatic tests, and critical alignment of piping assemblies.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret blue prints/sketches and install piping systems aboard ship.
• Knowledge of pipe bending, fittings, and various piping materials.
• Experience with tag-out procedures and Work Authorization Forms (WAF).
• Ability to perform hydrostatic tests and fabricate piping to required sizes.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blue prints/sketches and install all piping systems aboard ship.
• Perform shop prefab on piping systems using sketches/templates from blue prints.
• Ensure tagging out procedures and safe work practices are followed for piping systems.
• Set up and perform hot work and hydrostatic testing as required.
