Job summary

BAE Systems Maritime Solutions Division in Jacksonville, FL seeks Pipe Welders from entry to experienced levels to support defense projects on Navy vessels. You will operate welding machines, earn GTAW certifications, perform pre-visual NDT inspections, and assist other mechanics.

Shift flexibility includes 1st, 2nd, and weekend coverage. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED (or shipyard experience) and be able to read diagrams and welding symbols.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED, or 3 years shipyard/marine experience.
• Able to read and understand simple instructions, diagrams.
• Knowledge of blueprints and welding symbols.
• Must wear PPE and be physically capable in confined spaces, heights.
• Able to climb stairs and ladders; able to measure with scales and tapes.
• Shipyard/marine experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate welding machines and hand tools.
• Obtain GTAW certifications on different metals and positions.
• Perform pre-visual NDT inspections to minimize rework.
• Assist other mechanics with tasks when not welding.
• Work various shifts including 1st, 2nd, and weekend shifts.
