Job summary

Global 1st Flagship is seeking Fire Watch/Tank Watch Laborers for projects in Norfolk, VA, contingent on contract award. Candidates will patrol hot work areas, monitor hazards, and maintain fire safety readiness at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard.

Ideal applicants have shipyard or military environment experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to respond effectively in emergencies while complying with safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Must have hazard awareness and attention to detail.
• Able to stand, walk, and patrol for up to 8 hours.
• Willingness to wear PPE and follow safety protocols.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in a shipyard, industrial, or military setting preferred.
• U.S. citizenship and an active DoD security clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Patrol shipyard work areas to identify and mitigate fire hazards.
• Monitor for unsafe conditions and report them promptly.
• Ensure fire safety equipment like extinguishers is ready and functional.
• Report hazards or unsafe practices to supervisors.
• Respond to fire alarms and emergencies quickly and safely.
• Record incidents and communicate findings to the team.
• Adhere to OSHA regulations and safety protocols.
• Maintain accountability for company and government equipment.
• Communicate effectively with teammates and supervisors.
