Job summary

Virnig Manufacturing is seeking a Shipping Associate to ensure the efficient staging, packaging, and shipping of attachments and parts. The role requires forklift operation and comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions.

You will prepare shipments, build crates and pallets, ship via parcel, LTL and truckloads, and maintain accurate shipping documentation while coordinating with dock personnel to meet timelines and quality goals, with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

The Shipping Associate is responsible for ensuring the efficient, accurate, and timely staging, packaging, and shipping of attachments and parts. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, the ability to operate a forklift, and thrive in both indoor and outdoor environments.

Requirements

• Prepare shipments by boxing, crating, banding, and labeling attachments and parts.
• Build shipping crates and pallets as needed to support outgoing shipments.
• Ship parts using standard carriers parcel, LTL and truckloads.
• Stage and load/unload trailers, ensuring proper trailer selection and organization.
• Operate forklifts and other equipment to move attachments and materials safely in the yard.
• Coordinate yard activities, including traffic flow, check-in procedures, and communication with dock personnel.
• Maintain accurate documentation and complete shipping paperwork in a timely manner.
• Perform routine maintenance on shipping equipment to ensure functionality.
• Adhere to all safety policies, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Practice ergonomic safety procedures as outlined for the role.
• Collaborate with other team members across all shifts to meet departmental productivity and quality goals.
• Communicate effectively with leads and supervisors about concerns or process improvements.
• Support other departments or take on additional duties as needed.
• Work overtime when required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Forklift operation experience required.
• Basic math and reading comprehension skills.

• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, helmet, and safety glasses.
