Job summary

Corrugated Supplies Co. is seeking a Shipping Technician to support 2nd shift (3 pm - 11 pm) and help move products safely through the supply chain. The role involves operating high-speed machinery and ensuring safe, on-time delivery with emphasis on quality and cost control.

You will participate in training toward becoming a Tech A, with benefits including health/dental/vision, 401K, vacation, tuition reimbursement, and EAP. OSHA compliance and safety are integral to daily duties.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED and relevant certifications.
  • Forklift experience required; current certification a plus.
  • Preferred: corrugated industry or manufacturing floor experience.
  • Ability to read schematics; basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations is preferred.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, punctual, and organized.

Responsibilities

  • Move product safely between locations following shipping instructions.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and equipment.
  • Inspect trailers and load products per instructions.
  • Scan products and inventory as they are shipped.
  • Unload or assist in unloading finished product from trailers.
  • Support 2nd shift operations (3 pm - 11 pm).
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in safety, quality, and cost.

Position Summary: The Shipping Technician will be involved in all activities related to a goal-directed Shift Team, to achieve company's goals and highest standards of Safety, Housekeeping, Quality, Cost and Production during his/her shift, with a particular responsibility for general team support. Entry-level Team Support Technicians are expected to train through the operations skills, over the course of five-to-seven years, to attain the highly skilled operations technician “Tech A” status, responsible for running highly technical processes and equipment.

This position will support 2nd shift, 3 pm - 11 pm operations.

Duties & Responsibilities: The duties, tasks and responsibilities are ensuring effective and efficient movement of product from one location to another. Maintaining a safe and clean work environment along with supplying our customer with exceptional quality, customer service and on time delivery is one of CSC’s many goals. The systems include high speed corrugating machines, robotic assembly devices, conveyors, batch mixers, electrical distribution systems, and building automation systems.

  • Work safely at all times. Wear proper (P.P.E.) personal protective equipment appropriate to the corrugated environment (safety glasses; ear protection; steel toes shoes and gloves). Comply with all safety policies and procedures and maintain high standards for personal, and team safety.
  • Inspect trailers prior to loading to ensure they are free and clear of debris.
  • Load or assist loading product into a trailer following shipping instructions
  • Scan product back into inventory following shipping instructions
  • Unload or assist in unloading finished product in or from trailer following shipping instructions
  • Inspect load in trailer to ensure it is properly loaded and it is the correct load before leaving
  • Verify count while truck is being unloaded, as allowed by customers
  • Perform daily truck inspections, and report any maintenance items to management immediately
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas and equipment. Perform housekeeping (wiping down surfaces, sweeping; hosing down; removing trash, debris, and clutter) to keep area and production floor clean and safe.
  • Ability to ensure product Quality, Cost, and Production goals are met. Participate in training as assigned.
  • Ability to exercise common courtesy and common sense at all times to build shift and CSC team relationships through mutual respect, conflict resolution, mutual assistance and encouragement.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement with respect to Safety/Housekeeping, Quality, Cost Production, and Team.
  • Ability to respond to emergency issues including troubleshooting and clean up, to minimize safety hazards, loss of quality, production and downtime.
  • Have good communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of plant operations and facility management
  • Ability to share knowledge and gain knowledge from the rest of the team is essential

Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements
