JOB SUMMARY:

• To pick, pack and ship product to customers; and to assist in other distribution centre positions as needed.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The below listing of essential functions is not an inclusive listing of all duties that may be requested to be performed by supervisor or manager.
• Pick product from the bin or pallet, place correct picking label on the item and place on conveyor or deliver to packing area.
• Scan item into the warehouse management system to confirm correct pick and to obtain shipping labels, place/pack item in the correct size box with the designated materials and seal package for shipment.
• Make boxes for packing of singles assuring the number of boxes is ahead of the projected shipping amount for the singles area.
• Perform inventory control functions including adjustment of items into and out of inventory, problem resolution, cycle counting, correction of errors, etc.
• Sort multi-items into the correct bin by number and match for multi order.
• Process priority shipments, coordinate dock activities and work with carriers to assure they have proper documentation.
• Perform inventory cycle counts. Use RF equipment to scan items in bin for accountability and to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Deliver/replenish cardboard boxes to order processing areas, pull cardboard off the replenishment lines and load onto recycling trailers, load and replenish lines with cases to be put away, ensure the correct level of cardboard to meet projected shipments (reorder through Lead). Forklift certification required to perform this function.

SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform returns and shipping position functions as requested.
• Attend all department and company meetings as required.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school graduate or equivalent, preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Forklift certification required to perform functions requiring use of a forklift (designated employees).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Requires continuous standing and frequent walking.
• Requires frequent twisting, stooping/bending at the waist and squatting.
• Requires normal hearing and sight on a continuous basis.
• Must be able to continuously lift to 10 pounds, frequently lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
• Must be able to continuously carry up to 10 pounds, frequently carry up to 25 pounds, and occasionally carry up to 30 pounds.
• Requires frequent reaching above shoulders, at shoulder height and below shoulders.
• Ability to manipulate objects on a continuous basis with one and/or both hands.
• Ability to frequently push and pull up to 15 pounds, with occasional heavy pushing and pulling of fully loaded carts and palletized items up to 40 pounds.
