Job summary

Bell Flavors & Fragrances, Inc. in Northbrook, IL is seeking a hands-on Shipping Supervisor to lead daily shipping operations, support warehouse organization, and ensure customer shipments are accurate, safe, and on time.

This role trains and coaches team members, verifies documents, performs ERP transactions, and aids in maintaining safety, SQF, GMP, HACCP, and transportation compliance in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
• 3–6 years shipping, warehouse, manufacturing, logistics, or distribution experience preferred.
• Forklift certification required and HazMat/DOT/IATA familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support Shipping team to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant shipping operations.
• Prepare, stage, label, and verify customer shipments according to pick lists and packing slips.
• Review shipping documents for accuracy and report non-conformances or issues.
• Organize finished goods and warehouse areas while supporting food safety and GMP/HACCP requirements.
• Perform ERP transactions, support inventory cycle counts, and assist with warehouse projects.
• Operate forklifts, hand trucks, barcode scanners, and other handling equipment.
• Coordinate with internal departments to support orders, schedules, and continuous improvement.
• Back up the Shipping Manager as needed.

Bell Flavors & Fragrances, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Shipping Supervisor to join our Manufacturing team in Northbrook, IL. In this role, you will help lead daily shipping operations, support warehouse organization and inventory accuracy, and ensure customer shipments are prepared accurately, safely, and on time.

This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented shipping, warehouse, or logistics professional who enjoys leading a team, staying close to daily operations, and working in a regulated manufacturing environment. The Shipping Supervisor will train and coach team members, coordinate shipment preparation, verify documentation, support ERP transactions, and help maintain compliance with safety, food safety, and transportation requirements.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
• 3–6 years of related shipping, warehouse, manufacturing, logistics, or distribution experience preferred.
• Previous supervisory, lead, or team coordination experience preferred.
• Forklift certification required.
• HazMat training required; DOT, IATA, and/or marine shipping experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand instructions in English.
• Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and work in a warehouse/manufacturing environment.
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed.
