Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Shipping Supervisor for our gypsum production and reload facility in Sweetwater, Texas. This day-shift role will supervise the shipping department within our Principle-Based Management framework and culture.

You will develop direct reports, drive safety, coordinate with operations and carriers, and monitor shipping metrics to improve efficiency and reduce costs. SAP exposure and MS Office proficiency are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of leadership experience in manufacturing or military.
• Experience using Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Word).
• Availability to work on-call, overtime, and weekend hours as required.

Responsibilities

• Develop direct reports through effective communication and performance evaluations.
• Motivate and encourage team to positively contribute in their roles.
• Ensure the team operates effectively and efficiently to meet benchmarks.
• Drive safety excellence through reporting of safety observations/incidents and mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate with Shipping Manager, Operations, Sales, carriers, and contractors regarding inventory and adjustments.
• Support implementation of new systems into workflow with Safety, Quality, and Operations.
• Lead efforts and coordinate with production on condensing/opening bays.
• Track and report on shipping metrics and performance to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
