Job summary
Contract Professionals, Inc. is assisting a well-established manufacturer in Hayward, CA in hiring a hands-on Shipping Supervisor to lead daily shipping and logistics operations.
The role supervises the shipping team, ensures on-time shipments, and drives safety and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in shipping/logistics, 3+ years supervisory experience, experience with FedEx Ship Manager or UPS WorldShip, forklift operation, and a valid driver's license.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of shipping, logistics, or distribution experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years of direct supervisory experience leading a shipping or warehouse team.
- Experience conducting employee performance reviews, coaching, and progressive discipline.
- Experience managing shipping KPIs and departmental performance.
- Experience with FedEx Ship Manager, UPS WorldShip, or similar shipping software.
- Forklift experience and a valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, coach, and develop Shipping & Packaging Clerks and the company driver.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and manage progressive discipline.
- Schedule daily workloads and ensure on-time shipment performance.
- Coordinate domestic and international shipments using FedEx, UPS, and similar shipping systems.
- Monitor and improve shipping KPIs, including on-time delivery, shipping accuracy, productivity, and inventory accuracy.
- Plan delivery routes and support shipping, packaging, and receiving activities as needed.
- Maintain inventory of shipping supplies and ensure accurate shipping documentation.
- Promote a safe, organized, and continuous improvement-focused work environment.
