Bachoco USA in Fort Smith, AR is seeking a Shipping Supervisor to plan, coordinate, and execute transportation for production materials and on-site warehouse movements.

This on-site, Monday–Friday role requires a bachelor’s degree and 1–3 years in shipping/logistics; strong Excel/Word skills; and supervisory experience for 6–10 staff. This is a safety-sensitive, on-site position.

Bachoco USA is seeking a Shipping Supervisor for our Fort Smith, AR location.

Work Schedule: M-F 2:30 pm-11: 30 pm.

Summary: This position reports to the Shipping Superintendent and is responsible for the planning, coordination and execution of transportation associated with production distribution, moving raw and further processed materials on site, packaging, and other material to and from warehouse.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Schedule and arrange movement of materials on-site.
  • Responsible for all paperwork as required on all inbound and outbound loads.
  • Transfer goods and materials in the system.
  • Manage operations at off-site warehouse.
  • Responsible for overseeing movement of product on production floor.
  • Resolve problems concerning raw materials and packaging materials.
  • Maintain Freezer and cooler inventory and assist with monthly inventory.
  • Responsible for alerting dock personnel when trailers will be available to load (trailer load sheet).
  • Responsible for overseeing time entered for payroll of all department employees.
  • Collaborate with other departments resolve any issues with movement of products, supplies, raw materials, etc. such as Production, Quality Assurance, and/or Accounting.
  • Other duties as required by supervision.
  • This is a safety sensitive position.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises 6-10 employees in shipping, receiving, and at the off-site warehouse. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university and or one to three years’ experience is preferred.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and email applications.
