Job summary

Bachoco USA in Fort Smith, AR is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead an hourly workforce on the assigned line and ensure safe, efficient production of first quality products for customer specs.

The role requires strong supervisory experience in poultry processing, a Bachelor’s degree preferred, and the ability to work with other departments to meet USDA requirements. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus; safety and audit readiness are key.

Qualifications

  • Supervisory experience in poultry processing preferred.
  • Ability to supervise a team of hourly employees and manage staffing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines and GMP procedures.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise a team of hourly employees.
  • Ensure safety, performance, yields, staffing, time and attendance, training, and corrective actions.
  • Follow and enforce company policies, food safety guidelines and GMP procedures.
  • Coordinate with other departments to meet customer specifications and USDA requirements.
  • Complete daily shift reports and maintain accurate time edits.
  • Maximize yields and throughput while maintaining quality standards.
  • Participate in interviews for open positions.
  • Ensure shift training and audits readiness.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Bachoco USA is seeking a Production Supervisor for our Fort Smith, AR location.

Work Schedule:

M-F5pm-2am

Primary Responsibility:

The Production Supervisor reports to the Superintendent and is responsible for ensuring that production on assigned line is run in an efficient and safe manner to ensure production of first quality product to meet customer needs and specifications.

Functional Responsibilities:
  • Supervise a team of hourly employees.
  • Responsible for safety, performance, yields, staffing, time and attendance, training, and corrective actions for assigned shift.
  • Follow and enforce company's policies & procedures, Food Safety Guidelines and GMP procedures.
  • Work with other departments on assigned shift to ensure all customer specifications and USDA requirements are met.
  • Complete daily reporting for shift including employee time edits.
  • Maximize yields and throughputs while maintaining quality standards.
  • Participate in interviews for open positions.
  • Ensures that safety and job specific training are conducted on assigned shift.
  • Ensures that assigned shift is prepared for customer and BRC audits.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • This is a safety sensitive position.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university preferred.
Requirements:
  • Relevant supervisory or lead experience in portioning, debone, or evisceration poultry processing operations preferred.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence to get results.
  • Bi-lingual in English / Spanish a plus.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises up to 50 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Language Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of payroll systems, spreadsheet software and word processing software.
