Job summary

Ideal Tridon Group in Smyrna, TN, is seeking a Shipping Supervisor for the Wesanco ZSi Strut Plant. Shift is 6:00 PM – 2:30 AM. Coordinates daily shipping activities, supervises personnel, and ensures compliance with safety and quality standards while supporting continuous improvements to plant logistics.

You will verify documentation, schedule carrier pickups, track shipments, and collaborate with Production, Warehouse, and Customer Service to ensure order accuracy and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor degree preferred.
  • 3+ years in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations (manufacturing environment preferred).
  • 1+ year of supervisory or lead experience.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities to resolve shipping issues.
  • Proficiency with ERP/WMS and shipping software; good communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily shipping activities, including order picking, staging, packaging, labeling, loading outbound freight, and unloading inbound freight.
  • Ensure shipments meet customer requirements, carrier specifications, and quality standards.
  • Verify shipping documentation (BOLs, packing lists, customs paperwork, ASN files).
  • Schedule carrier pickups and manage transportation to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Monitor shipment status and resolve transportation or delivery issues.
  • Collaborate with Production, Warehouse, and Customer Service for accuracy and on-time shipping.
  • Maintain records of shipped orders, freight claims, carrier performance, and shipping metrics.
  • Support cycle counts and inventory accuracy; coordinate with purchasing/receiving on incoming inventory.
  • Oversee all RMA processes and communicate with suppliers on issues.

We are seeking a Shipping Supervisor for our Smyrna, TN - Wesanco ZSi Strut Plant. Shift will be 6:00 PM - 2:30 AM.

Summary

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily shipping activities, including order picking, staging, packaging, labeling, and loading of outbound freight and unloading of inbound freight.
  • Ensure all shipments meet customer requirements, carrier specifications, and company quality standards.
  • Verify accuracy of shipping documentation (BOLs, packing lists, customs paperwork, ASN files, etc.).
  • Schedule carrier pickups and manage transportation arrangements to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Monitor shipment status and resolve any transportation or delivery issues.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Production, Warehouse, and Customer Service to ensure order accuracy and on‑time shipping.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipped orders, freight claims, carrier performance, and shipping metrics.
  • Support cycle counts and inventory accuracy initiatives as needed.
  • Coordinates with purchasing and receiving departments to ensure timely and accurate receipt of incoming inventory.
  • Assists in developing and implementing inventory control policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Oversees all Return Material Authorization (RMA) product and processes.
  • Communicates with suppliers and vendors regarding receiving issues, returns, and replenishment orders.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Education, Experience, Abilities
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations (manufacturing environment preferred).
  • 1+ year of supervisory or lead experience.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve shipping issues.
  • Proficiency with ERP/WMS systems and shipping software (UPS/FedEx/DHL portals).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of inventory control principles, practices, and methodologies.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to adjust to changing inventory needs and priorities.
  • Ability to read production schedules, shipping documents, and technical specifications.
  • Aptitude to use small hand tools, RF scan guns, and stand up forklift equipment.
  • Ability to operate material‑handling equipment (forklift certification preferred).
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and/or sitting and reaching with hands and arms.
  • May occasionally climb stairs, drive vehicles, and operate equipment.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
