Job summary

Supreme Staffing seeks a Warehouse Shipping Supervisor in Olive Branch, MS, on 2nd shift (Sat-Tue, 2:00pm-12:30am). This temp-to-hire role leads a team to meet orders and deadlines in a fast-paced shipping environment.

You will oversee picking, packing, and loading operations, ensure safety standards, and coordinate with inventory control to maintain accuracy and performance metrics. Weekend work required.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of hands-on supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high shipping productivity and efficiency.
• Direct and oversee the internet shipping process, including picking, sorting, packing, and processing orders to meet customer deadlines.
• Plan and coordinate work assignments, train and motivate employees, and monitor and evaluate the performance of associates.
• Ensure shipping associates are capable of safely operating material handling equipment to move materials.
• Develop crew leaders to effectively oversee the daily routines and responsibilities of assigned crew members.
• Maintain appropriate equipment levels and structure to accomplish the shipping mission safely and effectively.
• Monitor the loading of merchandise into the shipping department.
• Ensure merchandise is properly staged for an efficient shipping process and that shipping reports accurately reflect merchandise ready to ship.
• Ensure shipments are complete and in acceptable condition.
• Assist in resolving discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and shipping reports.
• Monitor the flow of paperwork from inventory control to shipping to ensure timely data entry.
• Monitor and measure shipping performance for accuracy of locator and shipping reporting.
• Monitor X-carrier, DST, and emails frequently to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

The Warehouse Shipping Supervisor is responsible for planning, guiding, and directing staff members in an efficient and timely manner to meet customer demands, expectations, deadlines, and all administrative requirements.

Key Job Responsibilities

Staff Management

• Lead and supervise a team of shipping agents.
• Counsel, document, and discipline shipping associates as necessary.

Supervise Operations

• Maintain high standards for cleanliness, organization, and safety throughout the shipping department.
• Maintain a safe working environment and ensure safety and compliance practices meet DOT and OSHA standards.
• Ensure 5S warehouse principles are administered and followed on a routine basis.
• Direct the movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platforms to shipping and work areas.

Requirements: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Must be able to work weekends.
• 2-3 years of hands-on supervisory experience required.
• Minimum of 1 year of shipping/receiving experience.
• Supervisory and team-building experience.
• Experience with WMS/inventory management systems and RF technology.
• Ability to multitask and adjust to dynamic order-flow fluctuations as needed.
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to identify areas falling behind in production and proactively take action to get operations back on track.
• Experience tracking metrics, including key performance indicators (KPIs) such as team member productivity.
• Knowledge of automotive parts preferred.
• Excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications.
• Outstanding customer relations skills.
• Strong team and personnel management skills.
• Demonstrated drive to achieve results.
• Ability, with or without reasonable accommodation, to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 10 hours.
• Ability to squat, bend, reach, and safely climb and descend stairs where applicable.
• Ability to operate powered equipment, including forklifts, cherry pickers, and similar equipment.
