Job summary

Postle Aluminum Co. in Cassopolis, MI, is seeking a Packing Supervisor to oversee daily production/shipping operations at our aluminum extrusion facility.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all shipping department activities including order picking, packaging, staging, and loading of aluminum extrusions.
• Ensure proper packing, handling, stacking, loading, and securing of long and heavy aluminum profiles to prevent damage during transit.
• Monitor and supervise pack teams to meet customer delivery deadlines.
• Direct, train, and support department personnel to achieve performance and safety goals.
• Assign daily tasks, monitor productivity, and provide coaching/feedback.
• Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company-specific safety standards.
• Conduct routine safety checks on forklifts and cranes.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
• Verify accuracy of shipments by reviewing orders, manifests, and customer requirements.
• Inspect packaging and labeling to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
• Track packing KPIs (on-time delivery, error rates) and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline order flow from production to shipment.

Position Summary

The Packing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily production/shipping operations within our aluminum extrusion manufacturing facility. This role ensures the accurate, efficient, and safe packing, loading, and shipment of finished goods to customers. Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, and moving equipment.


• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and operating forklifts or other material handling equipment.
