Full Time MFG Admin Salaried Martinsville, VA, US

Salary Range: $48,000.00 To $52,000.00 Annually

2nd Shift Position
POSITION SUMMARY

This role will monitor and oversee outgoing shipping activities to verify items are being shipped to the correct location and in good condition.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Monitor the day-to-day operations to ensure orders are fulfilled correctly in a timely manner; direct and oversee the flow/progress of packages from preparation to shipment.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels and the daily shipping team's schedule to ensure appropriate shift coverage.
  • Ensure productivity targets are achieved and that all processes and activities are running smoothly and promptly.
  • Generate and disseminate hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly production reports.
  • Motivate Shipping Leads/Coordinators and encourage teamwork, pride and accountability to ensure productivity targets are met with a high level of accuracy.
  • Read all shipping notices, orders, invoices, and other documents to manage priorities and ensure that the correct shipping methods are used.
  • Accurately store shipping records in the database.
  • Oversee and supervise employees and drivers to make sure all items are prepared and shipped on time while complying with company policy.
  • Act as a liaison between Associates and Management and report on shipping activities and issues.
  • Provide guidance and ongoing training to all Shipping Associates and Coordinators; identify and discuss mistakes with associates for continuous improvement.
  • Resolve any shipping fulfillment issues or customer complaints.
  • Hold daily meetings with associates prior to shift start.
  • Safety and cleanliness are an essential part of a shipping operation, and it's the shipping supervisor's responsibility to be aware of and enforce safety regulations.
  • Adhere to all regulatory requirements including OSHA, CDC, GMP and other company safety and environmental policies, best practices, and guidelines.
  • Other projects as assigned by Plant Manager.
REQUIRED SKILLS OR EDUCATION
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to organize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have strong leadership skills, with the ability to coach and mentor others.

  • Able to perform all essential job functions and duties as assigned.
  • Physical ability to lift 50 pounds while using safe lifting practices.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to adjust to changing priorities, work in varying facility conditions including hot temperatures, and work with minimal supervision.
