Job summary

Smith is hiring a Warehouse Associate in Houston to support receiving and shipping operations. You will unload inbound shipments, label parts, and ensure accurate receipt and staging for orders, while supporting daily shipping and receiving activities.

Join Smith and contribute to inventory control, packaging integrity, and shipping document accuracy. The role requires lifting up to 40 pounds, basic software familiarity, and willingness to work long hours in a fast-paced, global distribution

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year warehouse experience.
• Knowledge of distribution field helpful.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds or more.

Responsibilities

• Unload inbound shipments from carriers.
• Open boxes and place shipments in bins.
• Receive shipments on purchase orders.
• Label and apply shipping documents to parts.
• Maintain inventory using local and foreign vendors.
• Inspect parts and packaging for quality.
• Repackage parts to Smith's standards.
• Paletize, wrap, weigh, and load product for shipments.
• Assist with additional projects as needed.
• Review shipping documents and verify accuracy.

We're excited to meet you and share what we love about Smith!Job PurposeTo receive and ship orders in a timely fashion.To maintain constant inventory of shipping and receiving supplies for Hollister and foreign offices.Essential Job DutiesUnload all inbound shipments from carriersOpen boxes and place shipments in binsReceive shipments on purchase ordersLabel box parts and apply shipping documents to partsKeep track of supply inventory using various local vendors as well as foreign distributorsDetailed inspection of quality of parts and packagingRepackage parts per SMITH’s global standards and customer requirementsAssist with other projects as necessary (ie. maintenance projects, moving furniture, etc)Responsible for Palletize, wrap, weight, and load product for domestic and international shipmentsAssistant in receiving inbound shipmentsReview shipping documentsCompare and verify the following match the physical product shipping before product leaves Smith: final invoice, sales order application, customer requirements, labels, airway bill, export documentsPackage parts while removing any Foreign Object Debris and sanitizing any vendor information for domestic and international shipmentsPlace all required documentation and labels on packages/palletsExperienceMinimum 1 year warehouse experienceKnowledge of the distribution field helpfulKnowledge of microprocessors helpful (testing of product and familiarity with part markings)Forklift experience is preferred but not requiredEducationHigh School DiplomaSoftware RequirementsMS Word and Excel.
