Impact Electronic Solutions, Inc. in Grants Pass, Oregon is seeking a Shipping Clerk to prepare shipments, verify orders, and calculate rates to ensure accurate, on-time delivery.

You will select packing materials, apply labels, complete Bills of Lading and other documentation, and maintain shipping records using company and carrier systems.

This position requires strong computer skills, ability to lift 25+ pounds, and attention to detail; schedule is Monday–Friday with occasional overtime.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Summary of Position

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing shipments to ensure products are packaged, documented, and shipped to the correct destination. This position calculates shipping rates, selects appropriate shipping methods, prepares required shipping documentation, verifies orders for accuracy, and maintains shipping records using company and carrier computer systems. Strong computer skills, organization, accuracy, and attention to detail are essential to this position.

Duties

1. Counts, verifies weights, measures, and confirms quantities of outgoing products.
2. Selects appropriate packaging and securely packs orders using spacers, dividers, protective materials, and other necessary packing supplies.
3. Determines the appropriate shipping method based on customer requirements, delivery timelines, and carrier requirements.
4. Prepares and processes all required shipping documentation, including shipping labels, packing slips, Bills of Lading (BOL), and freight documentation.
5. Prepares international shipments and completes required shipping and customs documentation accurately and in accordance with carrier and destination requirements.
6. Reviews all orders prior to shipment to verify product, quantity, documentation, shipping method, and customer destination are correct.
7. Enters, maintains, and retrieves shipping information using company databases, shipping software, carrier websites, and other computer-based systems.
8. Tracks shipments through delivery and assists with resolving shipping or delivery discrepancies as necessary.
9. Assists with moving orders and loading boxes or freight onto carrier vehicles.
10. Maintains inventory of shipping materials and orders supplies as necessary.
11. Identifies and recommends opportunities to improve shipping processes, accuracy, and efficiency.
12. Performs special assignments and other duties as required.

Requirements

1. Strong computer skills are required, including the ability to efficiently navigate computer databases, shipping software, carrier websites, email, and other business applications.
2. Experience with or ability to learn UPS, FedEx, and other carrier shipping systems.
3. Ability to accurately prepare and review shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading.
4. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple shipments and deadlines.
5. Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to accurately count, enter data, and verify shipping information.
6. Ability to distinguish colors.
7. Must have the strength and ability to perform physical activities requiring considerable use of the arms and legs and movement of the whole body, including lifting, walking, stooping, bending, and handling materials.
8. Ability to regularly lift and carry more than 25 pounds.
9. Ability to operate or become qualified to operate warehouse equipment used to lift and move materials, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
10. Valid Oregon Driver License with an acceptable driving record for company-related pickups and deliveries.
11. Proficiency in computer data entry and 10-key.
12. Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics experience is preferred.

Schedule

• Monday- Friday 7:00am-3:30pm
• OT is required, as needed. OT Hours: Mon-Thursday 2 hours immediately before/following shift, and Sat.

Education

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Preferred Experience

• 1–2 years of shipping, logistics, warehouse, or related experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with domestic and international shipping processes, including carrier systems, freight/LTL shipments, Bills of Lading, shipping labels, and related documentation.
• Strong computer skills with experience using shipping software, carrier websites, ERP or inventory systems, and general business applications.
