Job summary

Associated Milk Producers Inc. (AMPI) is seeking a Warehouse Associate at our Portage, Wisconsin facility to support loading, unloading, and shipping operations.

You will help maintain shipping/receiving records, verify correct products are shipped, and uphold GMP and food safety policies in a fast-paced dairy environment. Work involves inventory control, clean work areas, and effective communication with office staff and truckers.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Food manufacturing experience in dairy or cheese preferred.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of SQF, HACCP, GMPs, OSHA and loss control programs desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Maintain shipping and receiving records.
  • Verify correct products are shipped out.
  • Maintain clean work area.
  • Document and communicate production deficiencies to management.
  • Report and communicate critical information during shift change overs.
  • Adhere to Quality, Food Safety, GMP, and AMPI Safety Polices & Procedures.
  • Inventory control and consolidation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

AMPI owns six Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation's American-type cheese and processed cheese is produced. The cooperative's award-winning cheese and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail and food ingredient customers. In 2019, the co-op launched its Dinner Bell Creamery brand and accompanying Co-op Crafted promise, highlighting more than 50 years of dairy farm families partnering with skilled cheesemakers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. All AMPI employees have an obligation to report employee safety, food safety and food quality issues to personnel of authority.
  2. This position has a heightened food safety and food quality responsibilities.
  3. Load and unload trucks.
  4. Maintain shipping and receiving records.
  5. Verify correct products are shipped out.
  6. Maintain excellent communication with office employees and truckers.
  7. Responsible for keeping the work area clean.
  8. Document and communicate production deficiencies to management.
  9. Report and communicate critical information during shift change overs.
  10. Continuously look for process improvement opportunities and effectively communicate to others.
  11. Inventory Control and consolidation.
  12. Adhere to all Quality, Food Safety, GMP, and AMPI Safety Polices & Procedures, reporting any nonconformity.
  13. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), required.
  • Food manufacturing experience in the dairy or cheese industry, preferred.
  • Forklift certification, preferred.
  • Prior manufacturing experience, preferred.
  • Knowledge of SQF, HACCP, GMP's, OSHA and loss control programs is highly desirable.
