Job summary

Genuine Parts Company is seeking a Warehouse Associate in the Washington, DC area to handle shipping and receiving at a branch location. You will pick, pack and prepare items for delivery, ensuring accuracy and proper handling to avoid damage.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, basic math and reading skills, and basic computer abilities. Physical tasks include lifting up to 50 lbs and possible forklift operation.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Determines which items need to be picked, checked and shipped from sales order.
• Pulls orders accordingly to the sales order and rechecks them for accuracy.
• Prepares items for delivery to customer.
• Secures packages to prevent damage during shipping.
• Prepares customer returns for shipment back to distribution or supplier.
• Stores items on racks or bins according to MINO code organization.
• Reports damaged inventory to warehouse supervisor.
• Maintains a clean, safe working environment.
• May deliver items to customers and obtain signatures.
• May process counter sales or invoices for customers.
• May operate a forklift or similar equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Receives items in the computer system to show availability for customers.
