Job summary

Western Smokehouse Partners, based in Burlington, IA, is seeking a Warehouse Team Member to support daily warehouse operations. You will assist with loading and unloading shipments, operate forklifts and pallet jacks, and help maintain accurate shipping records.

You will also handle packing, labeling, and storage, participate in inventory counts, and uphold safety standards in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Training is provided for PIT use and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Willingness to operate forklift and other powered equipment (certification/training provided).
• Basic math, reading, and documentation skills.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and operate in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload inbound and outbound shipments, verifying condition and accuracy of product and packaging.
• Wrap, weigh, and prepare pallets for shipping according to customer and internal specifications.
• Operate forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and other PITs safely and effectively (training provided if needed).
• Maintain accurate shipping and receiving paperwork, including Bills of Lading (BOLs), packing slips, and internal records.
• Ensure all cases are lot-coded correctly and product is put away on the same day it is received.
• Assist with picking and packing orders based on daily fulfillment requirements.
• Perform quality control checks on shipments to ensure accuracy, labeling, and product integrity.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized warehouse and dock areas.
• Support cross-training initiatives within the Packaging and Processing departments.
• Assist with month-end inventory counts and routine inventory spot checks, including RTE products.
• Label, scan, and store products using inventory and traceability systems (e.g., Vista Trac).
• Communicate discrepancies or issues with received goods to supervisor or QA department.
