Job summary
United Performance Metals, Inc. is seeking a Shipping Clerk to handle packing slips, BOLs, export documents, and final inspection of shipping paperwork. The role requires adherence to safety standards and coordination with carriers for export shipments.
You will assist sales with shipping and paperwork, organize the shipping floor, and help with loading/unloading trucks. The position requires a high school diploma or GED with 3+ years of related experience, plus proficiency with measuring tools
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 3+ years related experience or training.
- Experience with tape measures, micrometers, calipers, crane and forklift operations.
- Ability to read safety rules, manuals and write routine reports; communicate effectively.
- Strong math and reasoning skills to compute rates and dimensions.
Responsibilities
- Prepare packing slips, BOL and export documents when necessary.
- Conduct final inspection of all shipping paperwork.
- Coordinate activities for export shipments and inbound freight.
- Assist Sales department on shipping issues and with paperwork.
- Match paperwork with shipments and organize shipping floor daily.
- Assist with loading/unloading trucks and receiving non-conforming material.
- Operate UPS/FedEx shipments and maintain safety training records.
- Provide training support and handle routine communication with carriers.
