Job summary

Mercy Cedar Rapids is seeking a Warehouse Clerk who will receive, stock, and deliver supplies and equipment to patient care areas, ensuring availability for timely patient care.

You will maintain storeroom organization, use MMIS and Kanban cards, and communicate shortages while supporting inventory accuracy and cost control.

This daytime, Monday–Friday role may include Saturday overtime; the team values reliability and safety.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write; basic computer data entry.
• Experience or familiarity with inventory control and storeroom procedures.
• Strong communication and organizational skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Receive, stock, and deliver supplies and equipment as needed.
• Maintain central storeroom in proper locations and inventory levels.
• Deliver non-stock items to requesting areas and pull stock for requests.
• Document returns and issues to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Communicate shortages and maintain backorder procedures in MMIS.
• Keep storeroom and work areas clean and orderly.
• Assist with safety duties and report unsafe conditions.

This position is Monday through Friday with the hours being 7am-3:30pm with the potential to work some OT on Saturday

Summary

This position supports Mercy's philosophy of patient centered care by receiving, stocking and delivery of supplies and equipment in a timely efficient manner to ensure availability for proper patient care.

Job Description

Job Duties

• May receive supplies and equipment in an accurate, efficient manner.


• Stocks supplies in the central storeroom in proper locations


• May deliver non-stock items to the requesting areas.


• Accurately pulls and delivers stock supplies to requesting areas utilizing Kanban cards, computer requisitions or other means of requisition.


• Documents returns and issues to ensure inventory accuracy of stock supplies.


• Works with manager to keep storeroom inventory at accurate, proper, cost effective levels.


• Works with patient care areas to keep their supply inventories at proper cost effective levels.


• Stocks Alcoves in patient care areas to appropriate levels of linen and supplies.


• Properly communicates any shortages to requesting departments.


• Maintains backorder procedure in MMIS system to ensure timely replenishment of those supplies.


• Maintains neatness and cleanliness of storeroom and work areas.


• Follows Mercy's safety guidelines, carries out job-specific safety duties and responsibilities, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, situations, incidents and injuries.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to read and write.

• Use of pallet jacks, carts, flat-beds, freight elevator to move supplies and equipment.
