Job summary

El Camino Health is seeking a Shipping Clerk to prepare completed products and documentation for outbound freight. The role includes assisting the shipping department with loading and packaging, and ensuring packages are prepared according to handling techniques and carrier requirements.

The position requires basic literacy and ability to use tracking software, forklift and hand tools, and the physical capacity to lift 50+ pounds. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Qualifications

• English proficiency required to communicate and document shipments.
• Experience using shipment tracking software or systems.
• Ability to operate forklift and hand tools used in loading and packaging.
• Knowledge of general shipping requirements and carrier specifics.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds as part of warehouse duties.

Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare all completed product and documents for outbound freight.

Assist in shipping department with loading and packaging.

Package and ship products according to proper handling techniques, customer requirements, and company and department processes and policies.

Essential Knowledge and Skills

• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English to the degree necessary to perform the job.
• Ability to utilize computer programs to track multiple shipments.
• Ability to operate hand truck, pallet jack, and forklift.
• Use basic hand tools such as utility knife, screwdriver, band cutter, and hammer.
• Knowledge of special requirements such as Federal Express, UPS and Airborne International shipping.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
