Job summary

Valmont Industries in Salina, KS is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Supervisor to lead the Shipping and Receiving Team and coordinate with the Production Scheduler in the Coatings Division. You will supervise the department, align with production plans, manage material storage and shipping activities, and mentor staff.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of supervisory experience, lean training, and hands-on knowledge of forklift operation, safety, and MS Office tools.

Qualifications

• Three years of previous Supervisory Experience.
• Minimum 1-2 years of Lean training.
• Ability to pay attention to detail.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
• Working Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and side loader equipment.
• Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment.
• Must have a high awareness for safety at all times.
• Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and audit incoming and outgoing shipping activities of customer material.
• Review and validate shipping instructions and schedules.
• Work directly with the Production Scheduler to create and revise schedules and priorities.
• Complete root cause investigations of damages or shortages in customer loads.
• Coordinate Shipping and Receiving functions and communicate with Equipment Operators, Production Supervisors, Crew Leads, Customer Service Rep and Scheduler.
• Be actively engaged in Safety Meetings, Training and Mentoring.

Position Overview

Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor position in the Coatings Division. • Three or more years of Lean.
