Job summary

Sierra Management and Technologies, Inc. is seeking a labor-ready candidate in Orange Park, FL, to perform shipping and receiving duties, verify cargo, and prepare shipments for transport. This position is a McNamara-O’Hara Service Contract Act (SCA) role with a current hourly rate of $19.91.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 60 pounds, and the ability to obtain a security clearance. Strong adherence to safety and DOT/MHE guidelines is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; Vocational training commensurate with Department of Labor functional description.
• Adequate experience performing the duties of the labor category as described in the Department of Labor functional description.
• Must hold a valid driver license and a Florida Class E license with no restrictions that conflict with Department of Transportation (DOT) or Navy Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
• Must be able to lift and move material and equipment weighing up to 60 pounds and to sit, stand, and stoop for prolonged periods of time.
• Must be able to pass a Navy quality medical/physical required for forklift operation and have good hearing and eyesight.
• Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform shipping duties: verify orders, package, label, and prepare for shipment.
• Perform receiving duties: verify incoming shipments against documents, inspect for damage, route to departments, and record receipts.
• Direct and coordinate activities of other workers engaged in handling goods to be shipped or received.
