Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in shipping/receiving role.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to develop and maintain Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, and PowerPoint presentations.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing Principles preferred.

Responsibilities

• Examine shipment contents and compare with records to verify accuracy.
• Prepare documents such as bills of lading or shipping orders.
• Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to items for shipping.
• Record shipment data (weight, charges, space, damages) for reporting and records.
• Coordinate with manufacturing team to rectify problems (damages, shortages).
• Operate forklift, skid-steer, and sorting bins to move materials.
• Contact carrier representatives for shipping arrangements and instructions.
• Determine shipping methods, routes, or rates for materials to be shipped.
• Compute costs using price lists or computer systems.
• Compare shipping routes or methods to find best option.
