Job summary

Refab Metal Fabrication is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Clerk to verify, record, and prepare incoming and outgoing shipments. You will support inventory accuracy, generate packing lists and bills of lading, and work closely with the company truck driver daily to ensure on-time deliveries.

The role emphasizes accuracy, organizational skills, and attention to detail, with responsibilities spanning documentation, labeling, and safe material handling in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Very organized and detail oriented.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret routine shipping documents and memos.
• General computer skills.
• Effective communication for one-on-one and small group interactions.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license and ability to operate lift trucks.

Responsibilities

• Verify incoming and outgoing shipments by comparing product identifiers and quantities to packing lists and purchase orders.
• Monitor shipping schedule for driver’s plan and coordinate with Refab driver to execute it.
• Receipt of incoming product, labeling, and proper storage placement.
• Examine outgoing shipments to ensure specifications and proper delivery preparation.
• Generate shipping documents including packing lists and bills of lading.
• Wrap skids, load/unload trucks, and transport shipments safely using lift trucks.
• Operate lift trucks and hand trucks as needed to move materials.
