Job summary

Weber Specialties Company in Michigan is seeking a reliable shipping/receiving associate to verify, pack, label, and move shipments. You will use the Made 2 Manage Inventory system to process inventory transactions, prepare shipping and bar code labels, and post weights and charges.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, the ability to read and follow simple instructions, and physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and present information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Processes inventory related transactions in the Made 2 Manage system daily according to procedures.
• Prepares shipping labels and bar code labels using computer programs.
• Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items to verify against records.
• Determines method of shipment and affixes shipping labels on cartons.
• Assembles containers and inserts items into containers for shipping.
• Posts weights and shipping charges and affixes postage.
• Unpacks incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, and routes items to appropriate department.
• Examines outgoing shipments to ensure they meet specifications.
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and operates a forklift or hand truck as needed.
• Creates Advanced Shipping Notice (ASN) on external customer website.
