Job summary

Trident Maritime Systems-Heavy Equipment Group is seeking a Material Specialist (1st shift) to join our Iron River, MI team. The role focuses on executing shipping and receiving operations safely while guiding team members to meet safety, quality, schedule, and cost goals.

The position requires basic supply chain knowledge, ability to read blueprints, math skills, ERP systems experience, and strong computer skills. Lifting up to 50 lbs and outdoor work are expected as part of the job.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of supply chain processes.
• Ability to read blueprints, apply math, and use measuring devices.
• Proficiency with computers, Windows navigation, and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, cranes, and rigging equipment safely.
• Move materials between internal and external operations.
• Kit jobs per instructions and perform accurate inventory transactions.
• Package outgoing shipments and ensure material preservation/identification.
• Load and unload delivery trucks efficiently.
• Generate and process paperwork for shipments.
• Communicate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Mentor and assist entry-level personnel in shipping/receiving.
• Reconcile and correct inventory counts in ERP systems.
• Troubleshoot issues and schedule shipments with carriers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
