This leader will ensure products and materials move safely, accurately, and efficiently while meeting customer, food safety, quality, operational, and regulatory requirements. The position requires regular travel between both Gainesville facilities and visibility across multiple shifts.

Key Responsibilities - Day to Day
  • Lead shipping, receiving, warehouse, inventory, and material-handling operations across both facilities.

  • Ensure incoming products and materials are properly received, inspected, documented, temperature-checked, rotated, and stored.
  • Oversee order preparation, staging, loading, and shipment release, including verification of counts, weights, lot numbers, labels, temperatures, product condition, and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and oversee cycle counts, physical inventories, reconciliations, and variance investigations.

  • Maintain accurate bills of lading, shipping manifests, certificates, and other required records.
  • Ensure compliance with company food safety and quality standards, HACCP plans, SSOPs, GMPs, customer requirements, and applicable USDA-FSIS expectations.
  • Partner with Food Safety and Quality on temperature controls, product holds, traceability, sanitation, housekeeping, and audit readiness.
  • Monitor shipment accuracy, on-time performance, transportation costs, loading and unloading times, product damage, and labor productivity.
  • Develop consistent processes, standard operating procedures, training materials, and performance routines across both facilities.
Key Responsibilities - Lead and Develop the Team
  • Provide visible, hands-on leadership to supervisors and hourly employees across multiple shifts.
  • Establish clear expectations for safety, food safety, quality, productivity, accuracy, attendance, teamwork, and customer service.
  • Coach and develop employees through regular feedback, recognition, performance evaluations, and development planning.
  • Address performance concerns and complete corrective action when necessary.
Support recruiting, onboarding, training, scheduling, retention, succession planning, and workforce planning.
  • Build employee engagement through open communication, team meetings, individual check-ins, recognition, and timely follow-up on concerns.
  • Ensure employees are properly trained and qualified to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, dock equipment, and other material-handling equipment.
Key Responsibilities - Promote Safety and Continuous Improvement
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable safety requirements.
  • Monitor forklifts, pallet jacks, dock equipment, trailers, racking, and storage areas.
  • Partner with Maintenance and Engineering to address equipment repairs, preventive maintenance, and operational improvements.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, equipment damage, product damage, and unsafe conditions.
  • Use operational and workforce data to improve inventory accuracy, warehouse flow, labor productivity, service, cost, and consistency.
  • Support system implementations, capital projects, customer initiatives, and operational changes affecting shipping, receiving, inventory, or transportation.
Required Qualifications
  • At least five years of progressive experience in shipping, receiving, warehousing, logistics, transportation, or inventory management.
  • Previous direct leadership responsibility and demonstrated success leading employees across multiple shifts, departments, or facilities.
  • Working knowledge of inventory control, warehouse operations, transportation documentation, carrier coordination, product traceability, and temperature-controlled distribution.
  • Experience using ERP, warehouse management, inventory, production, or transportation systems.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, communication, organization, decision-making, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.
