Responsibilities

• Receives shipments of supplies and materials, and inspects for damages and completeness of order
• Unloads and unpacks incoming shipments
• Verifies completeness of shipment against shipping order
• Receives copies of invoices/work orders and files for retrieval when goods are received
• Verifies goods received against invoices/work orders
• Assembles, packs, protects, labels, and weighs shipments
• Routes all customer shipments according to customer instructions
• Completes all required shipping documents and company shipping records
• Solves problems associated with carrier, routing, and shipping schedules
• Determines and use most economical method of shipment for goods
• Traces shipment when necessary
• Maintains adequate inventory
• Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment
