Job summary

Group CBS is seeking a Shipping Supervisor to oversee inbound and outbound shipments, verify documentation, inspect materials, and prepare shipping manifests. You will schedule pickups with carriers and lead a small team to hit throughput and accuracy targets.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 1–2 years in shipping/receiving, supervisory experience, ability to read purchase orders and bills of lading, and basic proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, and ERP systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of shipping/receiving, warehousing, or manufacturing experience.
• Supervisory, team lead, or equivalent leadership experience.
• Ability to read and interpret purchase orders, bills of lading, packing slips, and shipping documents.
• Basic proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, and ERP systems.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification after hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including raw materials, finished goods, and equipment.
• Verify shipments against purchase orders, bills of lading, packing slips, and other required documentation.
• Inspect incoming materials for damage, quality concerns, and compliance with order specifications.
• Prepare shipping documents, manifests, and labels in accordance with carrier requirements.
• Schedule pickups and deliveries with company trucks, freight carriers, and couriers.
• Lead, train, and mentor a small team of shipping and receiving associates.
• Assign daily work and monitor performance against throughput, accuracy, and service goals.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate priorities, safety updates, and daily expectations.
• Support the onboarding of new team members and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, company safety requirements, and established shipping procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S standards.
• Report shipment discrepancies, damaged goods, safety concerns, and near-misses promptly.
