Shipping, Receiving, Inventory & Safety Coordinator

Creative Metal Solutions, Inc. is seeking a dependable, organized, and safety-minded individual to join our team as a Shipping, Receiving, Inventory & Safety Coordinator.

We’re looking for someone who will take ownership of our shipping, inventory, and safety coordination functions while helping ensure materials move efficiently, inventory remains accurate, required documentation is completed, and safety programs are maintained.

This position is best suited for someone who enjoys taking ownership of their work, staying organized, and helping keep operations running smoothly. The successful candidate will be trusted to manage their responsibilities independently, communicate effectively with others, and identify opportunities for improvement while maintaining a positive, team‑oriented attitude.

While experience in shipping, inventory, safety, or manufacturing is preferred, we may be willing to train the right candidate who is organized, dependable, and eager to learn.

Schedule
  • Full-time
  • Monday–Thursday: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Friday: 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Position Responsibilities
Shipping, Receiving & Inventory
  • Oversee daily shipping and receiving activities to ensure materials are accurately received, documented, and shipped on schedule.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts, annual inventory, and organized warehouse practices.
  • Ensure required paperwork and documentation are completed accurately and maintained according to company procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages, discrepancies, or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Ensure required paperwork is completed and employees follow established procedures before materials or products are picked up or delivered.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse and shipping area.
Safety & Compliance
  • Lead weekly safety meetings and help reinforce safe work practices throughout the shop.
  • Maintain safety documentation, inspection records, and required logs.
  • Assist with identifying possible workplace hazards and recommending corrective actions.
  • Promote employee participation in maintaining a safe and compliant workplace.
  • Oversee DOT-related documentation and communicate compliance concerns or missing information to management.
Communication & Team Support
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with employees across all departments.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with customers, vendors, team members, and management.
  • Coordinate with production, purchasing, office staff, and management to keep shipping processes running smoothly and on schedule.
  • Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude while supporting company goals and resolving day-to-day operational issues.
Qualifications
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to take ownership of responsibilities, prioritize tasks, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow through, ensure accuracy, and maintain required documentation and procedures.
  • Proactive problem-solver with the ability to identify issues and help implement solutions.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Basic computer skills, including email, spreadsheets, data entry, and willingness to learn inventory and tracking systems.
  • Experience in shipping, receiving, inventory control, safety coordination, manufacturing, or warehouse operations is preferred.
  • Forklift experience is a plus; training is available for the right candidate.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the facility for extended periods during the workday, including frequent movement between departments and work areas.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors as needed in non-climate-controlled environments.
  • Must be able to hear alarms, equipment signals, and verbal communication in a busy shop environment.
  • Ability to operate a forklift or become forklift certified.
Compensation
  • Starting wage: DOE
  • Performance review after 60 days
  • Opportunity for wage increases based on performance, reliability, teamwork, attitude, and successful completion of training.
