Job summary

Plainville Plating Company Inc. in Connecticut seeks a detail-oriented shipping/receiving and production coordination specialist to join a metal finishing facility.

You will enter orders, verify requirements, issue work instructions, inspect shipments, manage materials, and coordinate workflow across operators, ensuring accuracy in records and documentation. The role emphasizes careful data entry, organization, and communication to maintain smooth production with precise customer fulfillment.

Qualifications

• Strong computer and data entry skills.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow detailed instructions.

• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Previous shipping/receiving, inventory, manufacturing, or order entry experience preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Enter customer purchase orders accurately into the company computer system.
• Review purchase orders carefully to ensure all customer requirements are captured and processed correctly.
• Print and distribute work instructions to production personnel.
• Inspect incoming shipments for damage, shortages, and discrepancies.
• Receive and process incoming materials and customer parts.
• Package and prepare outgoing shipments in accordance with customer requirements.
• Coordinate the flow of work through the facility by distributing jobs to operators.
• Operate a forklift (training provided if necessary).
• Maintain organized records and shipping documentation.
