Description

As a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator at Liberty Packaging, you will support successful shipping and receiving operations by planning shipments based on product availability and customer requests, tracking orders to ensure timely deliveries, and preparing shipping documents. This role drives value through execution in safety, technology, process improvement, and freight management.

This full-time position reports to the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor and is located at our Rock Island, IL, manufacturing facility.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Develop load plans with the shipping and receiving supervisor based on customer needs, freight availability, and trailer utilization for local and out-of-state transportation.
  2. Review customer release dates and coordinate with Production Planner/Scheduler and Customer Service to ensure timely delivery of finished goods.
  3. Guide, structure, and prioritize the shipping and receiving team to load trailers efficiently to support delivery plans.
  4. Prepare, review, and retain documentation of shipments, load sheets, bills of lading, and other related documents.
  5. Identify and notify production and customer service teams of any discrepancies in materials versus internal records.
  6. Coordinate shipping and delivery schedules with carriers.
  7. Schedule delivery appointments with external customers via inbound and outbound calls.
  8. Reschedule missed appointments in collaboration with other departments.
  9. Communicate with the customer service team to prioritize loads as needed.
  10. Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts, generate inventory reports, and participate in physical inventory processes.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • At least 1 year of experience in production shipping/receiving, as a forklift operator, coordinator, or inventory specialist.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite for business correspondence, spreadsheets, and reporting.
  • Willingness to work other shifts, including weekends and overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS

  • Experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The starting pay range is $18.23 - $22.79 per hour, with potential variation based on factors like education, skills, and experience. Benefits include health/dental/vision insurance, paid time off, holidays, 401(k) with matching, profit sharing, and more.
