Description

DESCRIPTION This position is responsible for effectively moving products and packages while ensuring inventory accuracy. The role also processes shipments, recognizes priorities, and supports on-time delivery and customer satisfaction. This team member will be cross trained in both Material Distribution and Materials Support and will flex between the two areas to meet department and business needs.

The anticipated pay range for this position is $19.00 - $31.22 hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job- related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following description of work to be performed by this individual is not intended to be all-inclusive. It focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished, along with the necessary activities required to satisfy the following performance guidelines.

  • Perform material services for internal and external customers in alignment with company core values.
  • Safety and Housekeeping
    • Provide and promote a safe work environment throughout the facility.
    • Follow 5S guidelines to help keep the facility clean and orderly.
  • Material Handling and Equipment Operation
    • Operate forklifts, cranes, yard trucks, and trailers.
    • Inspect equipment and report needed repairs.
    • Stock product and process electronic transfers.
    • Monitor and complete material handler requests.
  • Material Support and Quality
    • Maintain quality standards.
    • Wrap, band, and label materials for shipment.
  • Inventory Control
    • Complete electronic inventory transactions.
    • Perform cycle counts.
    • Research and resolve inventory inaccuracies.
    • Assist in attaining department inventory goals.
  • Receiving
    • Receive and inspect inbound material for compliance with AI standards.
    • Process inbound parcels and deliver them to the appropriate location.
    • Process vendor invoices and submit them into accounts payable accurately and on time.
    • Help establish and maintain a new effective receiving process.
    • Support the yard area by unloading log trucks, managing scrap material, safely delivering logs to the press area, and performing other general yard duties as needed.
  • Shipping
    • Load outside carriers.
    • Validate and complete shipping documents.
    • Process parcel boxes for shipment.
    • Understand and follow INFOR system processes, including pick lists, packing lists, shipping procedures, and customer-specific instructions.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by submitting ideas and participating in project implementation.
  • Administrative and System Support
    • Manage accounts receivable processes.
    • Process corrective actions and system changes accurately and efficiently.
    • Process and reconcile purchase order receipts.
  • Shipping Documentation
    • Finalize truck shipments and distribute documentation to the appropriate personnel.
    • Digitize and upload completed BOLs and pick lists to the company drive.
  • Inventory Reporting and Reconciliation
    • Record aluminum weight in the scrap balancing report.
    • Run log inventory during PMs, verify counts, and perform necessary inventory updates.

OTHER JOB DUTIES: (Not considered essential to the job)

  • Perform all other related assignments, including special projects, as required in a professional and cooperative manner.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent degree.
  • Experience: Two or more years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Two or more years of dispatching and receiving experience.
  • Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong computer skills, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to recognize and report safety concerns.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong coordination and judgment skills.
  • Intermediate math skills.
  • Basic blueprint reading skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Ability to take part in continuous education and training.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and semi-tractor safely and effectively.
