Job summary

System One is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Coordinator in Chattanooga, TN to manage inbound and outbound shipments, verify orders, and prepare parts for delivery. The role requires forklift operation and ERP/WMS familiarity, with attention to detail and strong multitasking abilities.

You will document shipments in ERP systems, coordinate with 3PL partners, and ensure safe packaging. Occasional overtime may be required to meet deadlines and support operations.

Qualifications

• Forklift operation experience required.
• ERP/WMS experience preferred.
• Basic Windows proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Access) is expected.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.
• Ability to lift and move shipments safely.

Responsibilities

• Manage incoming and outgoing shipments, verify order accuracy, and prepare parts for delivery.
• Receive, inspect, and count incoming orders; verify quantities against paperwork.
• Document shipments in ERP/warehouse systems; ERP experience is a plus.
• Prepare shipments with appropriate packaging based on size, weight, and fragility.
• Coordinate outbound shipments and select the best shipping method based on part specs and delivery requirements.
• Set up shipments through 3PL portals or via email with carriers (experience preferred).
• Operate forklifts; overhead crane experience is a plus.
• Assist with warehouse tasks using hand and power tools.
• Communicate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies, damages, or shipping issues.
• Collaborate with vendors, carriers, and 3PL partners as needed.
• Adapt quickly to changing priorities, balancing multiple tasks with accuracy.
• Work overtime as required to support business needs.

Job Title: Shipping/Receiving Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Manage incoming and outgoing shipments, verify order accuracy, and prepare parts for delivery.
• Receive, inspect, and accurately count incoming orders; verify quantities and items against vendor-supplied paperwork.
• Document and record shipments using computer systems; ERP experience is a plus.
• Prepare parts and materials for shipment, selecting the most efficient and secure packaging method based on size, weight, material, and fragility.
• Coordinate outbound shipments and determine the best shipping method depending on part specifications and delivery requirements.
• Set up and manage shipments using 3PL/3PL-related web portals, email communication, or logistics partners (experience preferred but not required).
• Operate material-handling equipment including forklifts; overhead crane experience is a plus.
• Assist with warehouse tasks such as light carpentry, packaging fabrication, and use of hand and power tools.
• Communicate with internal departments to resolve discrepancies, damages, or shipping issues.
• Collaborate with external vendors, carriers, and 3PL partners when needed.
• Adapt quickly to changing priorities, balancing multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
• Work overtime as required, including occasional extended hours to support business needs.

Requirements

• Basic Windows computer proficiency, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access.
• Ability to perform accurate counts and verify orders with a high level of detail.
• Forklift operation experience required; overhead crane experience a plus.
• Experience using hand power tools; basic carpentry or woodworking experience preferred.
• Ability to prepare shipments and determine appropriate shipping methods based on part characteristics.
• Ability to multitask and adjust priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with various internal teams to resolve issues.
• Ability to remain organized and efficient when shifting between tasks or responding to urgent needs.
• Experience with ERP/Warehouse Management Systems (preferred).
• Overhead crane operation (preferred).
• Basic carpentry for building custom shipping crates, pallets, or packaging structures (preferred).
• Experience setting up shipments through 3PL web portals or via email (preferred).
