Job summary

TURBOCAM is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Associate to verify incoming and outgoing shipments, prepare items for shipment, and maintain accurate records. You will compare part numbers, packing lists, and bills of lading, coordinate with freight carriers, and ensure proper packing and labeling.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1–2 years in an office or shop environment, good math skills, and the ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1–2 years’ experience in an office or shop environment preferred.
• Good math skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organization skills.
• MS Office and ERP software experience (Epicor preferred).
• Valid driver’s license and forklift certifiable, able to obtain DOT health card.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 70 lbs. and perform physical tasks.

Job description

Join a team of professionals where you will be responsible for verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and preparing items for shipment.

Come Build with Us:

• Compare identifying information, part numbers, serial numbers, count, weigh, or measure items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading.
• Communicate with supervisor daily on the specifics concerning quantities of parts being shipped and where they will be shipped to.
• Ensure proper packing of parts being shipped; examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
• Prepare required shipping forms, assemble boxes, create packing and/or part labels, pack cartons, and adhere packing slips/labels to cartons.
• Call authorized freight companies to arrange the pick-up of shipments.
• Receive all material, rough turned parts and daily deliveries from UPS, FedEx and other freight companies.
• Verify merchandise received against the packing slip and purchase order.
• Check deliveries for damage before signing receipt of goods. Unpack and examine incoming shipments, report damaged items, record shortages and report them to the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor. Route items to departments.
• Maintain accurate inventory of shipping materials, supplies, raw material, and finished goods.
• Operate lift trucks or handcart to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

Bring Your Expertise:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1 to 2 years’ experience in an office or shop environment preferred.
• Good math skills.
• Able to handle multiple tasks; attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills.
• Intermediate in MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet and ERP software (Epicor preferred).
• Must possess valid driver’s license from his/her state of residence, forklift certifiable, able to obtain DOT health card.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 70 lbs. in a safe manner and request assistance when needed.
• Moderate physical activity requiring agility and manual dexterity, including walking and standing for extended periods of time, or bending as well as lifting or moving objects.
