Description
Benchmark is seeking a shipping/receiving associate to perform a wide variety of tasks involved in the shipping and/or receiving of materials, supplies and equipment. The role ensures accurate, efficient handling of inbound and outbound cargo and maintains records in the ERP system.
Responsibilities
- Unpack incoming items, check goods against purchase orders or invoices and maintain records of received goods, rejecting unsatisfactory items where necessary.
- Prepare and maintain records of merchandise shipped; post weights, shipping charges and prepare goods for final shipment.
- Count and pack various sized products in boxes, cartons or other containers; check material against packing lists for inclusion of all component parts.
- May assemble boxes and cartons and prepare special or non‑standard packs.
- Follow specific instructions for correct carton, wrapping and arrangement of parts and use of dunnage.
- Apply correct label, stamp and/or other identification as directed and secure package with specified closure.
- May assist in training entry‑level employees.
- May operate forklift.
- Process inputs for receipts and shipments in ERP system.
- Maintain dock security.
- Ensure quality of work meets or exceeds customer satisfaction expectations.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of shipping or receiving experience in materials/warehouse.
- Strong component ID ability and ability to follow approved vendor list within system.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills.
- Effective multi‑tasking and ability to take on additional responsibilities as required.
- Effective organization and prioritization skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Discretion, confidentiality and professionalism when representing the company.
- Ability to work overtime when required.
- Ability to work with diverse groups.
- Participation in continuous improvement activities.
Other Information
This position is classified as safety‑sensitive because impairment while performing job duties could pose significant risk of harm. Benchmark will conduct a pre‑employment drug screen that may include testing for THC, obeying local restrictions. Benchmark maintains a drug‑ and alcohol‑free workplace and may conduct reasonable‑suspicion and post‑incident testing in accordance with applicable law.

Compensation and Benefits
Compensation Range: $17.83 to $19.78 USD. Many factors are considered in compensation decisions including skills, certifications, experience, and other business needs.
