Join to apply for the Shipping & Receiving Clerk role at SBM Management Services, LP

SBM Management is looking to hire a Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join their team! This position verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. Responsibilities include verifying shipments, inspecting for damage, operating mechanical equipment, maintaining records, and supporting other departmental needs.

Responsibilities:

  1. Verify accuracy of shipments by counting, weighing, or measuring items and comparing details with invoices and purchase orders.
  2. Open crates and containers, inspect shipments for damage.
  3. Drive truck for pick-up and delivery as needed, obtaining signatures for supplies.
  4. Route shipments and prepare items with appropriate packaging and labeling.
  5. Post weights, shipping charges, and affix postage.
  6. Ensure outgoing shipments meet specifications and handle returns if necessary.
  7. Move inventory manually or using mechanical equipment, and organize shipping and receiving areas.
  8. Maintain computerized inventory records and perform periodic physical counts.
  9. Request supplies, handle custody receipts, and verify order accuracy.
  10. Support vehicle and equipment maintenance, and assist in light maintenance tasks.
  11. Provide support to other Facilities Department areas as needed.
  12. Demonstrate strong decision-making, proficiency with technology, and excellent customer service skills.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or GED, or related experience.
  2. Proficiency in MS Excel and Word, and a valid Driver’s License (Class B) with no violations.
  3. At least five years of experience in shipping and receiving.
  4. Experience with carriers like USPS, UPS, FedEx, and inventory control.
  5. Ability to operate light trucks, hand tools, and mechanical equipment.
  6. Ability to lift 40 lbs and wear a respirator is a plus.

Additional Details:

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM

Compensation: $25.00 - $26.00 per hour
