Hubbell Incorporated is seeking a Warehouse Associate to support shipping operations. You will pick orders, prepare products for shipping, and ensure accuracy of materials and paperwork in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 1–3 months of related experience to become familiar with equipment and processes. You will work in a physical setting handling up to 100 pounds as needed.

  • Prepare products for shipping to customers.
  • Ensure order and product match; box, crate, shrink-wrap as needed.
  • Contact carriers and schedule pick-ups to meet delivery requirements.
  • Load and unload trucks with outgoing/incoming materials.
  • Inspect materials and verify bills of lading.
  • Verify quantity and quality of received materials.
  • Store incoming materials and pull for production as needed.
  • Label and handle materials per carrier requirements.
  • Complete required paperwork and maintain housekeeping standards.

Job Overview

Under the direction of Materials Manager, packs and prepares customer orders for shipping, receives material and equipment, and loads and unloads trucks according to established procedures and shipping regulations, meeting customer delivery requirements.

A Day In The Life

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Pick orders from stock or from staging area.
  • Prepare product for shipping to customers.
  • Ensure customer order and product match; box, crate, shrink-wrap as necessary.
  • Contact common carriers and schedule pick-ups, ensuring the meeting of customer delivery requirements.
  • Load trucks with outgoing products and unload trucks with incoming materials.
  • Inspect materials and ensure bills of lading are correct.
  • Verify the quantity and quality of material received.
  • Place incoming materials into storage.
  • Pull materials from storage and deliver to production as needed.
  • Affix completed address label and any other special labels required for the handling of material and specified by the carrier.
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork.
  • Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.

Required:

Requires education generally equivalent to a high school diploma and one to three months related experience to become familiar with equipment and processes.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls; reach above shoulders; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and use foot/feet to operate machine. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
