Job summary

Scientific Research Corporation is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Specialist to support daily operations for fabrication and prototyping activities. Responsible for verifying inbound and outbound materials, preparing shipments, staging components, and maintaining accurate inventory to keep production flowing.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent military logistics experience, 2+ years in inventory or shipping, and experience with shipping documentation.

Responsibilities

• Supporting daily shipping, receiving, and material‑movement operations for fabrication and prototyping activities.
• Verifying inbound and outbound materials, preparing shipments, staging and organizing components for production, and performing stockroom transactions to keep inventory accurate and flowing smoothly.
• Coordinating closely with logistics and shop personnel to ensure materials are properly handled, tracked, and ready for use in ongoing fabrication tasks.

Salary Statement

Estimated Starting Salary Range: USD $27.58/Hr. - USD $45.98/Hr. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

Description

• Supporting daily shipping, receiving, and material‑movement operations for fabrication and prototyping activities


• Verifying inbound and outbound materials, preparing shipments, staging and organizing components for production, and performing stockroom transactions to keep inventory accurate and flowing smoothly


• Coordinating closely with logistics and shop personnel to ensure materials are properly handled, tracked, and ready for use in ongoing fabrication tasks

FILLING THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON FUNDING

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent military supply/logistics experience


• Two (2) or more years of inventory, supply, or shipping/receiving experience


• Experience performing shipping and receiving tasks, including verifying inbound/outbound materials, checking quantities, inspecting for damage, and preparing shipping documentation


• Experience supporting material intake, staging, and kitting for fabrication or production operations


• Experience packaging, crating, labeling, and preparing components for outbound shipment


• Experience performing stockroom transactions, maintaining inventory records, issuing materials, and tracking daily movement of parts


• Experience supporting production activities by preparing materials, organizing component flow, and staging work for fabrication teams


• Ability to coordinate closely with logistics, fabrication, and shop personnel to maintain accurate material flow

Desired Skills

• Experience supporting shipping/receiving or stockroom operations in DoD, Navy, or defense manufacturing environments


• Experience handling and packaging sensitive electronic equipment, machined components, and fabricated assemblies


• Experience preparing Government‑compliant shipping documentation, including manifests and material tracking logs


• Familiarity with HAZMAT and safe‑material‑handling practices required in fabrication and production shops


• Experience supporting prototype, machining, or fabrication operations by managing material flow, staging work orders, and preparing outbound deliverable

Clearance Information

SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS, A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE SECRET LEVEL
