Job summary

TransPak, a long-standing packaging solutions provider, seeks a Shipping & Receiving Clerk in Hebron, KY. The role supports production by data entry, receiving, filling, shipping, and inspecting orders with careful attention to detail.

On-site duties include coordinating with carriers, loading/unloading materials, forklift operation, safety, and accuracy in records. Prior shipping experience and forklift certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years related experience or equivalent.
• Familiarity with shipping practices and handling methods.
• Forklift certified.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Receives, locates, and transfers materials accurately and in a timely manner.
• Opens containers utilizing hand tools as needed; counts and weighs materials and records information.
• Identifies damaged materials and records material shortages.
• Loads and unloads materials onto and from containers; uses appropriate tools to accomplish tasks.
• Cooperates with carriers for shipment of product to customers.
• Transports materials to designated areas using appropriate tools/vehicles.
• Assists machine operators and supports safety and quality efforts.
• Maintains a safe, clean working environment.
• Performs required administrative tasks and reports.

Position Summary

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk position supports TransPak’s production operations by performing a combination of tasks including but not limited to computerized data entry, receiving, filling, shipping, and inspecting orders accurately and in a timely manner; efficiently and safely loads, unloads, and conveys materials.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Receives, locates, and transfers materials accurately and in a timely manner.
• Opens containers utilizing hand tools as needed; counts and weighs materials and records information.
• Identifies damaged materials and records material shortages.
• Loads and unloads materials onto and from a variety of containers including but not limited to trucks, conveyors, racks, pallets, and/or trays; utilizes appropriate tools to accomplish tasks.
• Responsible for coordinating with carriers such as UPS, FEDEX, Freight Forwarders for shipment of product to customers.
• Transports incoming and outgoing materials to designated areas utilizing appropriate tools/vehicles to accomplish tasks including but not limited to wheelbarrow, hand truck, forklift, electric dolly, and/or elevator.
• Assists machine operators as needed by lifting heavy objects by hand or by using power hoist.
• Stacks and assembles materials.
• Maintains a safe, clean working environment.
• Participates in quality improvement efforts.
• Performs required administrative tasks; prepares all required reports and correspondence.
• Performs other duties as assigned by manager.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 1-2 years related experience or equivalent.
• Familiarity with shipping practices and handling methods.
• Forklift certified.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

• Lift and move a minimum of 50 pounds without assistance.
• Ability to use and climb a ladder.
• Wear appropriate safety equipment.
• Ability to push and pull up to 70 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

A large percentage of work time is spent in a warehouse where temperatures are seasonally cool and hot, and noise level can be moderate to high.
