Job summary

Aerotek in Saint Paul, MN is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Associate to manage all facets of warehouse shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment. You will pick orders with a Surface tablet, coordinate carrier shipments, and maintain accurate shipping records in a hands-on environment.

The role requires experience in shipping/receiving, ability to lift 50 lbs, and proficiency with Excel/Outlook. This is a permanent onsite position with competitive benefits and weekly pay.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of shipping and receiving experience in a warehouse or similar environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly as part of daily duties.
• Excellent computer skills with fluency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Experience or strong aptitude in customer service, including professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Exposure to or experience with forklift operations
• Familiarity with shipping processes and carriers such as UPS and FedEx.

Responsibilities

• Pick customer orders using a Microsoft Surface tablet, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
• Bring picked orders to the shipping and receiving department for packaging and final preparation.
• Assemble, package, weigh, and label products for shipment in accordance with company standards.
• Determine appropriate shipping methods, routes, and rates for materials to be shipped.
• Contact carrier representatives to arrange shipping and delivery and to issue instructions as needed.
• Prepare and maintain detailed records of goods shipped, including shipping documents and tracking information.
• Create and manage bills of lading, post weights and shipping charges, and keep organized files of shipping records.
• Receive incoming shipments of raw materials and supplies and verify their accuracy against bills of lading, invoices, and other documentation.
• Record and track goods received, report damaged items or shortages, and elevate issues as required.
• Deliver or route materials to internal departments using hand trucks, conveyors, or sorting bins.
• Handle customer returns, including receiving, documenting, and routing them for appropriate processing.
• Use sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks, and stretch wrappers at times to load and unload trucks and move pallets for staging; training is available for these tasks.
• Utilize shipping platforms such as FedEx and related systems to process shipments.
• Assist with basic inventory tasks, including checking stock and helping maintain accurate counts.
